Sculpey is one of the oldest names in polymer clay, going back to the late 1960s, and it is made in the United States.

Liquid Sculpey is polymer clay in pourable form — the same material without the body that makes a block hold its shape. It fills silicone molds, works as grout between clay elements, carries image transfers, makes window clings, and acts as a bakeable bond between clay pieces.

The twist cap controls the flow: open it fully to fill a mold, half-way for detail work and fine lines.

Getting a clear result: thickness decides it. Thin coats cure far clearer than thick ones — poured deep, liquid clay of any brand tends to cloud and trap bubbles. Build depth in thin layers, baking between them, rather than filling in a single pour.

It cures on the same schedule as the rest of the range, so a piece combining liquid and block clay bakes in one go.

Baking. Sculpey cures at 275°F (130°C). Give it a full 30 minutes for every ¼ inch of thickness — a half-inch piece wants an hour, and there is no penalty for going longer at the right temperature. Underbaking, not the clay, is the usual reason a finished piece turns out weak and crumbly, and most home ovens run well off their dial, so an oven thermometer is the single best thing you can add to your setup.
